Looking to 2026

I know, I can’t believe it either! Seems every year since becoming a school-aged grandma I repeat “where did the summer go?” And now, with happily building the attic into a dream come true I need to fast forward even quicker. So what is 2026 looking like you may ask? Well let’s look into my crystal ball my spectacular followers. Here’s the list I started to scribble, edit, crumple, rewrite, type, smile, frown, giggle, lose sleep over, see a lightbulb come on and experience “I want to do that project” overload with…..

  1. More crochet classes. Watch for posts of dates and what we can create with our superpower of creating string into things. Shout out to my mom for being the impetus volunteer of finding things for myself and sibling to do. She is the reason for my newest adventure of instructing string superheroes to obtaining their superpower.

  2. Theme correlating with the Winter Olympics 2026. The Italian cities of Milan and Cortina d’Ampezzo are jointly hosting the Olympic festivities. I need to look into my crystal ball and see beyond pizza, pasta, and wine to come up with fabulous pieces to create hot off the hook (HOH)! Opening ceremony is Friday, February 6 and events go to Sunday, February 22nd. Cosa possiamo fare?

  3. See if there is interest in a crochet along (CAL). Two ideas I see in the crystal ball.

    A. Mini granny square 2026 temperature blanket. In 2023 I did a temperature blanket using the high temperature of a WI day. I crocheted 300 single crochet using the moss stitch technique for 365 days. See pic below for 3/4 done project. I enjoyed the journey, and hoping there are others out there that would like to challenge themselves and join me on the temperature journey.

    OR

    B. A house blanket. Say what?! Using the corner-to-corner (C2C) technique every month we’d crochet a different house and then in January 2027 we’d construct our house blanket and enjoy the rest of winter 2027 cuddled up in our toasty house blanket. What kind of houses are you thinking of Keri? There’s a lighthouse, gingerbread house, schoolhouse, birdhouse, and the list goes on. Check out Repeat Crafter Me by Sarah Zimmerman. You can see the houses on the block for 2025 that are being worked on and see if this piques your interest.

DM me on my FB page Keri Dorschner or email me at elationattic@gmail.com if you have interest in one of these and I will work on details to get started January 1, 2026.

NOTE the crochet abbreviations above that I snuck in :~)

This is a start for 2026. In the coming weeks I will be bringing the crystal ball visions to the attic and rolling them out. Please feel free to message me with your ideas, things you’d like to work on, what would you like to learn. We’ve got a full year to fill. My projected start back up date is January 12, 2026 after taking a crochet break the month of December into beginning of January, which is a very important thing for all of us to do for our mind, body, and soul. Looking forward to hearing from you String Superheros and don’t forget to check out the crochet classes and other fun classes happening in November 2025 at Studio Jo, 110 W Main St, Durand, WI.
